Ext. Maint. Cancellation ?

am i getting my chain yanked by the Dealer on this? i was told today that i can NOT cancel the extended maintenance plan i purchased when i took delivery of the vehicle. the truck has 49825 miles on it today and it is sitting at the dealership thru the weekend.

sounds kinda bogus if you ask me.

What did the written document say?

Here is what I found:

A refund of the purchase price of the BMW Maintenance Program Upgrade will only be granted if the covered
vehicle is deemed a total loss while in the ownership of the original owner. Proper documentation will be required,
such as a police report or insurance reimbursement form and evidence of purchase price of the program. This refund
is ONLY available while the vehicle is still within the standard maintenance plan coverage that came with the
vehicle originally, as explained on the actual Maintenance Program Upgrade Agreement.

Remember, this is NOT a warranty- and the usual rules on refunding a warranty do not apply.

thanks ard, it would appear i'm boned on this. i haven't searched out the documentation yet but if that is accurate information on your part i suspect i have no opt out rights.

funny thing is, if i sell the car the maintenance plan goes to the next owner. compliments of BMW no doubt.

as the finance guy put it today.......... "it is what it is". it sure would have been nice if they had mentioned this when i bought it. ah well, buyer be wary.

But I don't listen to a damn word they say... all I say is "please show me the documents"..."please show me the contract" ... "please show me the policy"... somewhere in your purchase package is likely a document that says this with your signature.

Look at the bright side- maybe you'll need two brake jobs in the next 50k and it will turn out to be a good deal!
