Hello again...and a question about a fluid leak

Well it's been almost a year since I posted ....good to see that the old crew are still around and hello to all the new members.

Still punishing the beast around the potholes and Masshole drivers of Beantown....6 yrs old and she's purring like a big kitten.

A few repairs over the miles but nothing too huge. Here is a quick list
- Cracked coolant expansion tank: replaced
- Leak in coolant hose fitting and gnarly looking hose: replaced fitting and hose
- Sticking and later stuck caliper - replaced both front calipers and rotors/pads under ext. maintenance. For those of you experience braking shudder at speeds of ~ 60, this fixed mine.
- Replaced control arms

Will probably keep her for another year or two......riding bareback without a warranty now so fingers crossed. I had a test drive of the the Q5 and liked it quite a bit, not as much as the X, but a good buddy owns the dealership so being able to buy it at true dealer cost is very tempting. Also still whipping around the E46 M3 'vert. She's been ridden hard and put away wet many times and seems to like it so she's also probably staying for a while.

Oh yea, and for those of you in Boston, I found a very good honest (yes) independent shop right in Boston - European Car Doctors right next to Fenway Park. 5 mins walk from where I live so that's another plus.

Anyway, I do have a question related to a fluid leak that has stumped me. Was on vacation recently and when I came back saw a small (clear) puddle under front center on garage floor. Moved it to another spot and same again - not just water from AC as it doesn't dry out completely. Also, did white paper test and it is clear so that eliminates a lot of the fluids. I have checked all the usual fluid reservoir levels nonetheless and all is fine. Will be dropping it off in the shop to have a look at but was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Cheers all

Thanks but leak is outside - under car.

Question really is - what could the clear fluid be?
(not water or typical AC runoff as it didn't dry completely and still has greasy residue)
