X5 E53 4.4i (2000) steering help problem
 i have a problem with my e53 x5 4.4i (2000) Since monday, the steering help, doesnt work correctly... if i drive fast... the steering help deactivates itself... but when i stop the car and start again, the steering help works again... if i drive fast, then deactivates... and now, it completely doesnt work... i start the car again, and nothing happens, the steering help isnt work... what can it be? please help me, it doesnt make fun, to drive this car at the moment...  sorry for my bad englisch

It sounds like your power steering pump has failed. Check the fluid level and if it is normal, then your pump has probably failed and needs to be replaced.

Hi,
i read the car out... and the answer is: nothing! the guy can´t find a error in the system... he means in the servo oil is small metal pieces... that mean wear of the servopump he said... is that possible? ps: i have servotronic in my x5 bimmer...
