Coolant goo around a newer expansion tank.

Had the expansion tank replaced about 8 months ago. I've been seeing quite a bit of gooey green around the cap and down the tank. I haven't had to add any coolant so my guess is I'm not losing much. Is it something I should worry about?

Did you use the same cap? Is the bleeder screw tightened? If you used the same cap I think there is an o ring in there. If not maybe the seal where the top hose meets the expansion tank.

Broke the damn thing off. I guess it's time for a brass one.

BRASS...if you over tighten it then you crack the expansion tank instead.

Had to improvise but I got the job done. The LocTight is only on the nut and not on the threads that are in the tank. I also used the oring from the broken one.
