New Audio Project

Well I have begun a new project on my 2002 X5 E53. I have had the car for a month now and have been searching for an iPod integration solution. The only options that I have found were 2 options. one being the Intravee II which would have cost me around $500-600 AUD, or the second being he Dice mediabridge. Looking on youtube I came to the conclusion that neither looked all that flash, I have come from a 7" pioneer DIN DVD player, with the intravee looking the better of the two. So with the price so high I have begun to think outside the box. What I have come up with is mounting an auxiliary battery and inverter, then installing a Mac mini computer. After purchasing everything I have now spent about $900, which is a bit more, but it will be a fully functioning computer running off its own battery. I will be posting photos of the whole install and hopefully a video for youtube for everyone who is interested in how it all works out.
My shopping list has included:
TV in motion - toysinyourcar.com
Av input/output lead - toysinyourcar.com
1 Dry cell battery - A good mate donated
1 pure sine wave inverter - eBay
1 Mac mini - eBay
1 dryarc solenoid - eBay
VGA to RCA cable - eBay
Just waiting for it all to drive in the post so I can get started on the install.

So with the mail man delivering most of my parts I have begun the install. So far I have installed the TV in motion, Av input and dual battery system alone with the inverter. I have tried to attach some pics so I hope they work out. Basically at this stage I can now watch Tv on the go and have access to listen to the audio whilst the monitor is on the AV channel on the TV. No photos of that as they don't show anything. I have tried it out and everything is functioning perfectly. I have spliced into the CD audio wires and can get the sound from the computer through the speakers in stereo. Haven't got pics of that yet. The last parts I need are the VGA to RCA cable to get the pic through to the TV screen, but so far all is going nicely.

there are tons of carputers there. do a search for BMW, X5,e46 and carx also they have dc to dc powersupplies that work off the ignition.. I have heard good and bad reviews with inverters. I used to the DSATX 200 watts. turn the key off p (not mac) went into hibernation. Heres my old install http://www.sorentosite.com/forum/sho...d.php?tid=2934
