I humbly disagree with your conclusions:
the site provides enormous benefits to mostly unpaid members and harps not a bit. Your ad will reach people here that autotrader et al cannot, as in google's target advertising. I don't think you have endless words and pictures there, correct? last, but certainly not least, it is the only income that pays the bills. I know funds are tight but this is not some commercial business, funds are tight everywhere. for the record, I am not in any way officially obligated to 'the board' and I thank you as just another member for respecting the monetary needs of its existence. good luck with your sale (and thanks for removing the other reference to your vehicle sale in frankroti's topic, as well - I was under the impression that Bimmerphile had the same requirements as XOutpost, but I'll guess I was mistaken).

Karma, gents...
I am only suggesting that the site consider asking for smaller donation from those of us who simply want to advertise our vehicle for sale. Many of us would pay a smaller amount that is more commensurate with the level of exposure such an ad would achieve. I suggest $10 for a 90 day run... I think xoutpost is great, and I have tried to contribute my own knowledge here on the site whenever I am online as my own way of contributing to its success. However, it would be fiscally irresponsible for me to pay $35 for every site where I want to advertise my car or am a member of the community. I already pay $40-something/year for BMW CCA (where I receive a 100-page full color magazine and discounts on parts and service), another $45/year for BMW VCCCA (again, a full color quarterly magazine and discounts), and occasionally provide small financial support to 318ti.org and bimmerforums.com With xoutpost, it is all or nothing--pay $35/year to be able to post to a forum. I think the perception that a for sale posting on xoutpost reaches a significant enough number of prospective buyers to justify a $35 investment is a bit like drinking our own bathwater when many other sources are available to sellers. Just my $.02...YMMV
