2004 x3 voice control

Hello,

I have a 2004 x3. I have the multifunction steering wheel, that comes with "talk button", but nothing happens when I press that button for 3 seconds or more. I have'nt seen any additional accessory like "talk module".

How to get it work, or can I get it work at all without some special module. I have navi prof + tv. Model is 3.0d.

Voice Nav on the X3

This question was just answered in a thread I started here...

http://www.xoutpost.com/x3-e83-forum/...e-control.html

Simply;

If you have a bluetooth kit and a compatible phone the voice button will allow you to manage calls, phonebook, etc.

If you have a Nav system and you install the accessory mentioned in the above link then you can have voice control over your nav.

I have bluetooth kit and a phone that works hands free (not in bmw's compatible phone list, nokia 3230). I cant access phone through menus, there might be some compatibility problem. Could that cause passivism on voice control?

I'm not sure if I have the vr module (mentioned in other thread) in my navi pro.
