How to remove back seat headrest?

I have purchased a seat cover for the rear seat since I have 4 kids and sports and want to preserve my seats.

I have to remove the three headrest but upon initial inspection I could not get them to come out, only adjust up and down.

[Bulk]

Push it down then pull it up in one foul swoop. There's no buttons it just comes out. Keep trying up and down until it comes out.
