Tube is there to secure that underbody plastic shield. The tube is not a structural member. Don't worry about it.

You actually remove this tube when you install the under ride protection. It runs underneath the transmission cooler and serves to prevent it from damage. With the mammoth under ride protection installed, there is no need for this tube.
