transmission/car wash?

Hi all, I have been having a problem with my transmission after a car wash[under carriage], it seems to drops out a bit, I actually heard a clicking noise, I have a idea what it is,but seeing if anyone had the same problem.

I've never experienced a problem with an undercarriage wash. WHat exactly are you experiencing?

Your problem is that you actually take it to an auto wash lol

Just like no short drives to prevent Mayo from forming, no car wash, you need to hand wash an X.

You could have had a lot of road grime and stuff built up in the guibos, the undercarriage wash cleared that and now you have the symptoms of worn flex discs. Not 100% your problem, but worth checking.

And I take mine through an Auto wash in the winter too. Kind of hard to wash a car in the driveway with a frozen hose.

Just my opinion, but as long as you have a good coat of sealant on the paint, if you're able to run it through a self service wash with the pressure guns and just give it a damn good rinse every few weeks in the winter is arguably better than going to the auto wash on the couple nice days in the weekends of winter, where every Tom Dick and Harry is bringing their grimy ass filthy rides in, and the same brushes are touching your car next.

Gives me a heart attack just thinking of it. Unless these places clean their brushes off after every car that goes through (doubtful), you may not see it that day after the car wash (because they usually use a wax product which will hide new scratches) but come springtime when you do your normal washing, sure enough there will be more marring on the surface than there was in the fall.

Sorry for the rant, just a slight pet peeve of mine as an auto wash to me is like taking a shortcut in winter IMO.

we have touchless auto washes.

I won't use a brushed wash.

But doesn't the spinning brushes or clothe spins the dirt off like in this commercial for a similar product?

My pet peeve with automatic car wash is that they recycle some of the water so all that salt from other people's cars is now use to rinse your car.

Touche, I feel better now

touchless auto is worlds better than a brushed auto wash, I'm sure you already know this but the chemicals used in it are quite strong so I'm sure you're ready for a spring detail/wax job when it gets warm again

Wish we had a nice touchless wash by me, I wouldn't mind using it once or twice in winter.

I detail my car 3 times a year. Before winter, after winter and middle of summer.
