what now, passenger door died??

I think I may have done a magic combo of button pushes or something.

01 x5

stopped off to pick up some wheels tires and I had the two front windows down to air out the car while there. car was off and only door unlocked was the driver side door.

I had to open the tailgate so I just jumped in through the passenger door to hit the unlock button on the console. nothing happened.

pulled out the key and hit unlock, again nothing. I opened the door from inside and loaded the wheels.

went to leave and put on a/c, went to roll up windows and the passenger stayed down. The door lock didnt work either. At one point I got the door lock to work again but then pressing stuff it stopped again.

I kinda need my window to roll up at least.

any clues?

got it fixed and learned something new today.

learned that each front door has its own fuse under the dash!

blew fuse #24 which is aparently for the passenger door. fuse #20 must be driver side.

Also, got the window back up but it was moving SLOW! had to help it with my hands at the passenger door. looks like I'll be replacing the window motor at the minimum.

window/lock now both work. I'm guessing I got the lock working when I manually opened the door and then when I went to wind up the window, it pulled too much current and popped the fuse.

can you get the window motor by itself or do you have to buy motor/regulator as a set?

you can get the motor itself from most auto part places, or pull one from a pick n pull. may just need a little lubrication.

I have Autozone, NAPA and Carquest commercial accounts that I would be happy to let you use if you need.
