OE Style 215s came in 21" wheel size...they may be 'original replicas', but they are not Original Equipment.

Sounds like your 22's are 8-9" wide. I posted a link below for reps which are 20" x 10-1/2" rear and 8-1/2" up front. The rear would run a 315 which is plenty wide

BMW doesn't have a 22" wheel in any style AFAIK. They are replicas.
