Rear wiper blade size?

It's time to replace my rear wiper blade. I still have the original rear blade (I really don't use the rears). When looking for replacement, search shows that the the rear blade size as 18"..?!? Is this correct size? The original OE blade is only 14" long. It seems 18" would be too long...

Found this chart:
BMW X5 Wiper Size Chart

It says 18"...so I waddled down the stairs to our 2001 X and measured the rear blade:
17 3/4" edge of rubber to edge of rubber.

Ours is also orig, as the rear has turned on maybe two times in 13+ years.

Thanks for checking.

Even though 18” blade fits, I compromised and went with 16” blade. IMO, it looked goofy with larger blade in the rear.

I thought about deleting. But... They do come handy brushing off the snow during winters.

I actually use mine, but it gives poor coverage in wiping the upper middle, even with a new Bosch 18" blade. In no hurry, but I may have to consider the swap some have done to the E70 version arm .....

If you are using a beam blade and having poor coverage poor coverage it may be the blade. I found that beam blades are longer than the standard ones. The wiper edges are the same but beam type blades typically are 1/2" longer on each end with its end cap. What I found was this was just long enough to touch the center brake light and cause the blade to lift slightly. I ended up using a rain-x blade, pulling the end cap off, trimming it slightly and putting the cap back on. No more lifting and the widest clearing path possible.
