Leveling suspension settings

06 4.8is with 4 wheel airbag suspension. Normally the setting for the suspension is in the center. I lowered it today and started to drive, after vehicle goes above ~ 25 mpg, it switch back to the center setting. Same when lives to high setting.

How do can I lower the suspension and maintain the lower position

Thanks

If you just pushed the button down or up, yes it will return to the center setting above that speed, which is "ride height".

There used to be a module not available anymore unless you find one used that will allow you to drive at any speed in low "access" mode or high "offroad mode".

Now you can lower the ride height using GT1 or inpa. Keep in mind that the "offroad height" and access height deviate from the ride height. Meaning if you set a lower ride height, offroad mode will not go as high as it did before and access mode will go lower.

The bmw system is tempermental and once you start going into the really low heights it gets tricky. Ive spend many times trial and error and hours on it to where i know what needs to be done.

Example is my height is an almost slammed height, you can fit a finger between my front tire and fender flare, same in rear.

With this pushing the button into access mode will not do anything, and offroad mode will go up but it wont return down to the same height. I simply dont use them since i dont need to ever.

Going really low like i am you have to make sure all your bags are leak free and slow leak free as well.

I rode at a slighty higher height for a while because my left strut had a very slow leak like 2-3 days, but in order not to bring the computer out id have to put it into offroad mode then return it to ride to make the front level otherwise itd be slightly off.

I know most wont roll here at that height so you will never really run into the issues above.

If you want to lower it like one inch or something its easily done with the software and you wont run into finicky issues like that, still retaining use if access and offroad button modes.

If your wondering what my height looks like:

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Great explanation Pat.

It may be finicky at his slammed stance, but still is functional.

However, lowering an inch or so from stock height should have no issues.
