Installing Microphone

63 31 000 Removing and installing/replacing complete ceiling light

Front ceiling light:

Lever out ceiling light (1) in direction of arrow.
Disconnect plug connection underneath and remove ceiling light (1).


Rear ceiling light:

Lever out ceiling light (1) in direction of arrow.
Disconnect plug connection underneath and remove ceiling light (1).


84 11 550 Removing and installing/replacing hands-free microphone


Press out hands-free microphone (3) from inside.
Disconnect plug.

Note:

(1)=Switch for sunroof.
(2)=Remote control for garage door opening.


If after installing the mic you find that you have poor sound quality, check the orientation of the microphone to make sure that the arrow is pointing towards the windshield. If it's not, turn it around 180 degrees.

The latest mic from BMW, which is part number 84 31 6 938 762. It's reported to have the best sound quality.
