Sounds expensive to me. If you accountant says the salesman is wrong, go with your accountant. If you're in Melbourne try a few dealers. Remember a base X1 23d starts at $59,964.

And personally, I the M-Sport suspension and wheel/tyre option is the last thing you want on our crap roads, even given that roads in Victoria are the best in the country.

I understood that the 23d is auto only, prices starting at $ 60ish.

I think you'll find the 20d manual starts at $51K-ish. That's the base X1. The 23d is auto only.
