Had to happen at some point ..didn't it ..
Heading off today with family to buy lunch and the magic tyre pressure warning light came up .. jumped out and noticed a nasty big screw sticking out of front left tyre ..
good news - run flat, therefore could drive to dealer bad news - $465 fitted an expensive lunch ;) but you go in with eyes wide open when you buy and X5 with run flat 'technology' |
That's exactly the reason they came off the 5 series at the earliest opportunity.

I had the same thing. But i got the puncture repaired, and all good now.
I am now going to buy a set of non run flats. |
techno
are you able to share $ to repair? sounds like a good option as I did not realise they could be plugged etc ...I like the idea of non run flats ... does the tyre indicator system on BMW accept non run flats on X5? what brand are you thinking of ...
|
$35 for the repair and a box of beer.
Yes, i assume that it will work with any tyre as it just picks up a change in rolling diamater. I am going to go for the same Bridgestone Duelers in the non run flat version. USD $1,070 + shipping for a set of 20s from tirerack.com I expect to get a much better ride, as well as having the option to easily repair. |
Nice work
