E53 Bluetooth Issues
Folks, I picked up an 05 X5 with Bluetooth and BMW assist a few weeks back but cannot get the Bluetooth to work. The screen only ever says activate phone. I've tried all the pairing methods documented online, but to no avail.
I tried pairing through my Intravee but again no joy. Turning the module off and on via INPA doesn't kick start it either, and I don't see a specific pair option there. There are no fault codes in INPA for it either. Is there any other methods I've overlooked? Can DIS be used to activate/pair the module? I have a copy of it but have never used it so don't know where to start. I would expect if the module was goosed it would've thrown up a fault code in INPA, but is that not necessarily the case? Thanks in advance for any help. |
Do you have the passkey? Notice the instructions require a pass key. Have it ready when you start the process. http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...tooth-ulf.html

Yeh I have the pass key. The issue is getting to a stage where it's required!
|
Are you sure you have the Bluetooth module?

Yes.

if you cant activate pair, with the button or the intravee then i'd say you ulf is faulty.
You do have a ulf and not a TCU right? |
Pretty sure it's a TCU
|
ok, then the intravee wont be able to help, pairing happens in the first 30seconds of ignition on. (do the search when you first jump in).

Just got a June 2005 UK spec X5 and having the same problem trying to get the Bluetooth pairing... Car came with TCU unit.
I am however unable to find the Bluetooth enthenna on the top of the Nav drive (left rear) My 2003 e46 M3 however was retrofitted with ULF module and works fine... |
I never did get it working in the end, but ended up buying a couple of working TCU units to try.
I have them for sale if you'd be interested; https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-...utm_source=sms |
I am not giving up yet...
PAsoft 1.4.0 confirm the Bluetooth is there with pass key and "turn on". I did also try to paired with via PAsoft but did not work as well. My guess is that I might be missing the Bluetooth antenna |
Lol, good luck. I lost the will to live and ended up with a Parrot :(.
