The light control 58G (dimmer), is not wired with the 84 21 6 933 415 part number EVEN in the -04 hardware revision which is not available in the US, only Germany. This IS wired in the E46 pairing button, as Pin 3 off the ELO18 plug. I have yet to crack open a 415 Eject box, but it is entirely possible that the button has a pin for 58G on the PCB. If you have $75 burning a hole in your pocket, you could take it apart and see if you can solder a wire from that Pairing button PCB to Pin 3 on the ELO18 plug.

Keep in mind Pin 3 will NOT be hot, unless you have a 03/02 or higher X5 (with the Universal II phone wiring harness).

Do not fret it you are dying to have dimmer light on the earlier build date X5, as here is what you would need to do.

Not sure of how you have your X5 Bluetooth harness connected from the 54 pin connector to the DB25 in the PRE 03/02 builds, but you would just need to jumper a wire from the ULF module 54 pin connector Pin location 52 to DB25 pin location 12. This would send the signal to ELO18 pin location 3 for 58g dimmer.

It's not a big deal; I was just wondering if I installed it wrong since the light didn't light up. I have my armrest closed all the time anyways.
