Bluetooth

Yesterday, I installed the bluetooth kit in my 2001 X5, the process was easy, pairing is easy too, I was able to make a phone call out of the system without a probelm, but later on I am not able, even after I did a reset and a new pairing>

here are what is happening:

the phone and the system are paired and recognizing each other.
the system will initiate the call but it will cut off right away.
the snap in adapter is not charging the phone.

any help.

What phone are you using? What ULF is it?

ulf ending with 552
phone motorola v 710 Mercedes benz edition which has the same software recomended by BMW

The V710 is known to be very flaky with the BMW Bluetooth system. I would suggest that you test your system with a different Bluetooth phone to determine whether you have a phone issue or a vehicle BT issue.

My money is on the V710 being the source of your problems.

well, I treid my friend nokia phone, the same thing happened, paired with the ULF initial call but then no response.

I am questioning, since the cardle is not charging the phone is it possible that there some wiring issues

Since you got your kit from bimmernav, contact Martin to see if he has any thoughts. He's very knowledgable on this.

Damn, it took me a while to find my old post. I installed BT in my 2002, and mine did not charge originally as well. I got a tip from Advanced Autovations that fixed it. Your results may vary, but it may be worth a shot.
