Anyone with more than one phone?
The manual says 4 phones are supported. I have a Verizon Treo 650 that I have paired and working great (after hacking the bluetooth on the phone). I would like to add my Razr V3 from Cingular. When I follow the instructions I get the activate message on the MID, I put the RAZR into search mode but the phone never pairs.

My wife and I got new phones at the same time. She got the new Razr V3c, and I got a Samsung SCH-a950. When we tried to pair them up with the car, I did hers first. Everything works well. Then I did mine. My a950 works but I cannot get the phonebook to load up. When we are in the car together, only her phone works with the BT in the car, and her phonebook loads up. When she leaves the car, my BT works, but again no phonebook. When she comes back to the car, she takes away my BT. I'm guessing because I paired her phone with the module first.

I've got three phones and they are all Motorola's.

The car will always try to connect with the first phone paired and if it can't find it will search for the second, and so on.... |

Actually the last phone paired has priority up to a maximum of 4 phones. When the 5th one is paired it nukes number 1 and the latest 4 remain.
If you want to change the order, you can set the car in pairing mode and then press and hold the pairing button for 10 seconds. This will delete ALL paired devices and let you start fresh. Now since your real question seemed to be about the phonebook loading, it has nothing to do with the order or priority of the paired devices. Phonebook transfer is a function of the phone. The phone must have the proper Bluetooth profile in order to transfer. This profile is OBEX or Object exchange. Some phones are not setup for Automatic transfer of contacts. I have been told this is a security reason, but I am not sure about that. Anyway some phones require you to manually transfer the phonebook. Put the system in pairing mode, and using the phone menu selection, transfer the contacts. I am not sure about that phone, but in some Sony Ericssons the you go to contact, then select business cards, then select SEND ALL. Martin |
Tried again and this time it worked after two attempts.. very odd. The only thing that was different was that I did not have my ipod plugged into my icelink. Should not make any difference..
