bluetooth - how to delete a phonebook entry?
Just started enjoying benefits of bluetooth in 05 X5 - never seemed to get the telephone manual the owner's manual refers to - it seems new phonebook entries update with each turn of the key - but old (and in my case incorrect) entries do not get removed from the vehicle's memory even after being deleted from the mobile phone
Does anyone know how to delete a single phonebook entry from the vehicle's memory? |

failing that, hold BT key on car for 10secs while turning ignition to pos 1. it should delete your phone pairing. then pair your phone again and the old entries will have gone. |
It does add new numbers but keeps the old ones even after no longer on the phone. I would like to delete and start over - where is this button you refer to - is it the send/receive button on the left side of the steering wheel? Thanks very much for your help.

hi
on an x5 it is in the centre arm rest. you open it and see a button with a face talking, if you use your imagination ;) you need to hold this then turn ignition to pos 1. then keep holding fo 10 secs until it deletes all pairings. it's the same button you would have used to pair your phone in the first place. |
On an '05 (at least mine) the "talking face" button is on the steering wheel.

not pairing the phone. maybe it's different for us models? |
I believe I have only the steering wheel button. Initially, I was able to pair up by only using my phone after turning key to position 1. I will try the steering button and hope it works. Thanks for all your help. Sounds like I should pursue getting the manual from BMW....

You might have to physically disconnect the ULF in order to clear the memory :dunno:
