Phone ringer volume control in X5

Hi, I have a Motorola E815 that I use with BT in my 2004 X5 4.4. All works fine, but I don't understand what sets the ring volume of the ohone in the X5. Sometimes it rings very reasonably and other times you could almost drive off the orad when the first ring happens. The ring volume doesn't seem to correlate to the LOUD, SOFT, Vibrate etc settings in the phone and it doesn't seem to match the volume of the radio or Sirius etc. Anyone nailed how to set the ring volume?
Thanks.

In the X3, it's the volume of the radio which controls that of the 'phone. Not sure if the same rings true for the X5. (No pun intended!.....ah what the heck, pun intended!)

Ringer Volume

Controls the volume of the phone (as in the conected call) o the volume of the ringer which is what I am looking for? Wondering if may be I call the phone while bonded and adjust the ring with the volume control and then it stays that way? It's a bummer to have a song really cranked up and get deafened vy the ringer.

Whatever the volume of the radio happens to be when the 'phone rings is the same volume of the 'phone. In the X3, one can adjust the volume using the steering wheel volume controls. Again, not sure if that's true for all bluetooth enabled BMWs. An easy way to figure this out is to have someone call you while you're in your car (or you can call your mobile 'phone using a cordless home 'phone, for example) and fiddle with the volume of the radio so you can see if this is the fix you're looking for. Hope this helps, and GL.
