No listing on the Treo 700W it will link but will not down load phone book.

I understand that the Moto Q will link perfect.

Why is BMW so behind the times?

I don't understand. You should be able to provide your vin# to a dealer and acquire the appropriate eject box. As far as the quarter window shades go, did you provide them with the correct part #?

It is Verizon & Palm that is behind in the times, not BMW. BMW can't control the Bluetooth software drivers that Verizon & Palm places on their phones. Actually, Cingular seems support BT on their phones really well.

BMWs have more cars with Bluetooth than any other luxury cars so far....Trust me, not all BT phones are compatible with Lexus/Toyota/Acura/Honda/Mercedes, etc.

By the way, the Verizon list too short....My Verizon Treo 650 pairs fine and my friend's Verizon Samsung SmartPDA phone also pairs with his 2006 325i as well. Now, Quicksilver confirms that the Verizon Treo 700p pairs well with BMW Bluetooth.

Also, the Moto Q is quite buggy as well. Already reports of the Moto Q locking-up and rebooting, etc.

So what makes 9/05 so important for BT? Did the assist module change? My L7 Slvr wont tranfer phonebook. It stays at transferring forever. I noticed it says only works with 9/05 production dates ot later.

By 9/05, BMW started to use the Motorola ULF (Bluetooth & Assist). BMW could not get the Visteon Assist module to work with Bluetooth in the 2004 model year BMWs.

Caution about Cingular compatability - It seem Cingular is made up of individual phone companies - the network of your local provider may not be Bluetooth compatible (ie, Edgewireless out here in eastern Idaho) - CHECK with your local BMW dealer what works in your area

And as you have previously noted the Palm website say that the 700P is not suppose to work with th Motorola ULF. But it does. The glitch may be that before turning on the ignition of the X5 make sure your palm is already in bluetooth mode if you have previously paired.. Thats the only thing that I can remotely recall doing different the caused it to began working again.

Bluetooth has nothing to do with the network. It has to do with the software on the phone.
