How to enter special characters?
How do I enter a phone number that contains a '*'? The voice recognition doesn't get it. It thinks I am saying other numbers.
Also, can I insert a pause between digits like I can on my phone - so I can call my voice mail and have it enter the password? Thanks |
With the nav system I can do it on the screen.
If I initiate the dialing from the phone then things like inserting pauses works just fine. If I do it from the steering wheel controls then it balks. |
Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have nav.
This must be a common request - there's got to be a way to do it! |
Hit "Tel" on your radio's keypad. "Dial Number" wil apear on the display with the telephone numbers in sequence below (1, 2, 3, 4...). On the right side you'll see options for * and #.
The way it works is you hit the up arrow and go to a second screen where you enter the *, then you hit up arrow again to return to the numbers keypad. Hope this helps. Jose |
Hmm...I'll go play around with buttons on the radio, but I don't have a TEL button. I think that's only on X5's - I have an X3.
Something to try though. Thanks |
Hmmm, can you do it from your radio? If not, you'll have to dial the special characters from your actually cellphone. You still can dial from your cellphone's keypad, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of making it hands-free.
