V710 original software with -522 bluetooth module.
I had a V710 with the original software. Two weeks ago I installed the part #84 21 6 934 552 bluetooth module into my 2003 X5. I paired the phone and car together and everything was fine (except the phonebook would not transfer). This past Friday Verizon gave me a new V710 with the newest software 8700_01.40.0R. I paired it with the car and now I have problems. The phone constantly disconnects from the car. Will I need the Bluetooth module recoded by the dealer, or do I have to find the newest bluetooth module?
Thanks in advance dmoney98 |
It's my opinion based on what I've been reading that the 1.4 firmware from Verizon corrects the compatiblilty issues with the combo BT/Assist module (made my Motorola and installed on the 2005's) but it makes it incompatible with the Pre-2004 BT module made by Visteon.

Luckily for me…
The Verizon store hadn’t shipped my original phone to the warehouse. They gave me my original phone back. So, I live without the phonebook transfer, but at least bluetooth is working.

I think the key is both the TCU and V710 are built by Motorola. |
