The dealer told me that I need to have SA620 option to have it recognize the voice recognition in the bluetooth module. My -387 BT module was retrofitted into my 05 X3 and the VR did not work. I was using this -387 module in my e46 and the VR was working in that car.

Did you remember to swap over the SES jumper Plug? Check to see if there is one pre-installed.
