buying a euro bt module
I have someone wanting to sell me a 5th or 6th gen ulf module but it's from overseas. The part # matches so in my mind there shouldn't be any difference, but is there?
Thanks, Joe Clark |
They are the same; however, a ULF from a Euro car will probably come coded with the voice recognition turned off. A US dealer can recode the module to turn VR back on, but only if your car's build date is on or after when BT was introduced to the model.
I know... I have a 6th Generation module I bought from a guy in the UK, and the VR is turned off. I have a 1998 E38, so the BMW GT-1 computer will not recode the ULF in my car. |
