no haven't tried it. it's a very expensive test at around $600 plus another few hundred of install. i already have bluetooth. spending 700-900 seems not a good option to test my BT connectivity. if that's the only option i may go with purchasing another approved phone, get a second line ($10 a month) and just fwd my phone to that 2ndary # when driving. that' would cost about $100 a year and it's guaranteed to work. and no one will f$*# with my M's electronics either.

i wish there was a way to just upgrade the software and/or firmware on these things to the latest bluetooth specs.

steering wheel control
 

Hi,
I have a ck7w bluetooth kit fitted and I have hear'd you can get a cable to hook up the un-used buttons on the steering wheel so I can have steering wheel control? anyone know where I can get one and how much?

Maybe I was not clear. I was referring to the stock system. Try going to a dealer. Get in a car similar to the one you are considering buying. Try to pair your phone with that car. That should be totally free.

that i have tried already. the car's stock BT will not pickup on the series 60 nokia fone (model e61 nokia). that's car's like the series e85/e86 e46. the phone does work on e90 though. the e90 has a more advanced BT system.

I have a 06 X3. My Nokia 6682 (which is a series 60 phone) will pair and connect. Calls work perfectly except the phone book will not sync.

Trying a new Nokia E62, it will pair, but never connects. According to the Bluetooth Certification Site the 6682 has Bluetooth 1.2 and the Nokia E62 has Bluetooth 2.0. The Nokia E61 is supposed to have Bluetooth 1.2. Hence might be the issue.

My question -- does anyone have a late model Nokia series 60 phone (e.g. N80, N73, E61) which will pair AND connect to a 06 or earlier X3 or X5?

I have my partner's Nokia e61 and a 9th Generation ULF I can try tonight. ;)

Presumably this means that Nokia N series phones with Bluetooth 1.2 pair and connect also.

Just to confirm -- the 9G ULF -- this is the one used in the 06 X3?
