Transplant Help

I have recently moved from a 2004 330 ZHP to an '04 4.4. Before letting the 330 go, I removed the bluetooth and sirius parts that I installed. I believe that I retrieved all of the parts. The sync button in the 330 was just a button, whereas it appears the button on the x5 is a complete phone-clip-in thingamagiggy. Can I purchase this, or is there any other way to sync the phone up, since in the 330 I hit the button all of once?

With regard to the sirius install, the pics that I have seen for the x5 install look a lot like the back of the 330 did--That is a rack for the electronic components. However, there is no rack in my 'new' ride. Is this rack part of the 'installation kit' for the sirius or the cd changer?

Thanks.

Here's a DIY on the front page that might help: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...03-bmw-x5.html

Tom,

Thanks for the info, but apparently I am not being clear enough with my question. I don't think the install is too much of a problem, as it is mostly 'insert tab A into slot B" type stuff. The question that I have is-Is it possible to purchase the 'other' parts in a BT kit to allow me to incorporate what I have into an X5? Can I get away with not having to purchase a whole new kit? Can I avoid having to put in a new piece into the armrest by just syncing my phone with my existing button and then reassembling things? -OR- Is the 'retrofit kit' that is pictured on the page that you referenced me to actually what I have PLUS an installation kit? If so, I will just purchase the install kit and go.

You will need an installation kit, your ULF can be reused from your other BMW.

On the Sirius kit, the e46 and the X5 use the same mounting bracket - so you're good there.
