ULF compatible with all BMWs?

I installed my own Bluetooth kit in my X3. I'm now looking at buying a 335i. Will the same ULF work with the 335i if I move it over?
I don't have the model or generation of ULF handy, but I can dig it up if it matters.

Thanks

No, the E90 335i uses a completely different technology than the X3. So, your X3 ULF will not transfer. I could be wrong, but I thought that all new BMWs come with Bluetooth as standard.

The Bluetooth is definitely not standard in Canada. It is an $1100CAD option.

You should contact Martin at http://www.bimmernav.com/BMW_new_Blu...tructions.html... he sells the same E46 ULF module (latest version) but with a MOST interface for the E90 communication system for a full OEM integration. Maybe you can get an "E46 > E90 ULF transfer installation kit" custom built from him... ;)

Thanks...but Martin replied in another forum and said I was out of luck. The two ULFs are totally different.
If I buy the 335i I'll sell the old ULF on eBay. I guess I'll then bend over and pay the $1100 to BMW for the Bluetooth option.

Looks like there has been a change in the implementation of the ULF in MOST cars now that I read that link again then... ;)

There IS a E92 Bluetooth solution for the 335. It is just a different module than what is found in the X3. X3 is I bus, E92 is MOST bus fiber optic.

The modules look similar, but the connectors are quite different. Only place to purchase the new body style BMW bluetooth retrofit kits is bimmernav

Thanks. I ordered my 335i with Bluetooth and Assist. My X3 ULF is now up for sale on eBay.
