BlackBerry Address Book Transfer
 

This was in the E70 forum, but I though this would be a better place to post. When I hooked my Blackberry up to my car, only contacts A-G uploaded. G-Z did not appear.
I was told I have an "illegal" character in one of my contacts. What exactly are these illegal characters? I browsed the next 15 or so contacts after it dropped off, and they all looked the same as before.
I have about 800 contacts total. Is there anyway to search for a illegal character? I have a BlackBerry 8700.

Look for anything non-alpha. I think that a "carriage return" character in my phone number field caused problems in mine.

Could be that the comma is the problem. I am pretty sure that spaces, parenthesis, and dashes are OK. By "carraige return" I mean the ENTER key. I had a few contacts that had multiple contacts in a single field that were separated by ENTER key new lines. Another possibility is email groups. The BB and BMW ULF do not like those either.

I had a mailing group which I setup in my blackberry 8700 ie multiple names in one entry. Renamed the mailing group to start with Z, deleted the device from the radio, then reactivated and it loaded down the entire phonebook. Now works perfectly.
