04 4.4i X5 where to buy bluetooth?

Hi, I am trying to install the bluetooth/assist module and voice recognition module so I can have all of it in my X5. I read all the articles, but I am still kind of confused. Anyone else have my year and done this mod? If so, can you recommend where and what to buy? Thanks so much!

Bimmernav

Simply the best. You won't find better equipment, better pricing, or better support anywhere.

I have the same year/model X5 as you. I got my BT kit from Bimmernav. Excellent support. The instructions were very clear and the install took 30 minutes. Everything worked right off the bat.

Thanks, can you tell me what your cost was and what phone you now use with it? Did you get the combo or just swap out the assist for bluetooth. Also, did you have to go to the dealer to have it programmed?

I got it a couple of yrs ago so don't remember exact cost. I believe Bimmernav's lists the kit for $695. I was using it just fine with a Motorola RZR V3i and Blackberry 8700. I got the kit because it includes some other items you need besides just the module such as the BT antenna and wire harness. You don't need to take the X into the dealer to have anything programmed. It's one of the best upgrades I've done to the vehicle because it also adds voice recognition.

If you want to include the BMW Assist feature, do you have to get it from the dealership?
