Blackberry 8830

Anyone using this device? What's you opinion?

Quicksilver 08-28-2007 03:10 AM

No one has this phone??

BruinMan 08-28-2007 12:01 PM

Not Me!

Hey Barry!
I don't have this phone and if I would purchase a Blackberry; I would get the Blackberry Curve. So much thinner and has a camera.
Two things about the Blackberry I don't like:
1) No touch screen.
2) Data plan is over-priced and is required.

oh BTW... I just got a refurb iPhone from Apple.com. Looks brand new and I saved $100.00

My old phone was (is) a Sony Ericsson P990i.

get the curve

if you have specific questions about the 8830 let me know but i'd say get the curve

Quicksilver 08-29-2007 04:25 AM

Just how easy to use, if you've had the palm what's the difference, over all comparison. Why the curve? The 8830 is a dual mode phone and seems to have more functionally.

First I'll apologize for the long winded message.

8830 i'm going to assume you want for Verizon. one thing between the 8830 and 8300(curve) is the keyboard and its size. It is slightly larger than the 8300 and the keys are squished to gether. On the 8300 the keys are completely spaced out and its easier to type. It has a camera built in as well as a music/video player and picture viewer. as for functionality and features the 8830 and 8300 are the same and if you've used a palm before they are practically the same with the exception of view modes. The only functionality you might be referring to on the 8830 is the google maps and its built in GPS at the base of the unit but doubt its worth it. I currently have a treo palm edition for my personal use and the curve for work. I've used the 8800 which is the cingular/tmobile version of the 8830 and i must say i prefer the curve it just feels better in your hand. Hopefully this answered some of your questions

The curve and 8830 are the same thickness. The difference is that the curve has a camera.

The curve is a little shorter due to no gps at the base of the unit but if you've used both you must admit it feels better in your hand than the 8830
