iPhone Not Compatible with 6th Gen Bluetooth?

Yes yes I too picked up one of those new iPhones, after the prices dropped. It paired up fine with my X5's bluetooth and even downloaded the address book. However, I can't make or receive calls. The vehicle's bluetooth dials the number but calls never actually go through. I didn't have any problems with other phones Motorola RZR V3i and Blackberry 8000 series.

The bluetooth module I have, which I picked up from Bimmernav a while back, is the 84 21 6 955 522 - 6th generation. Do I need to bite the bullet and get a newer BT module?:(

Yes, I read that on one thread after I posted up. Will give it a shot. Thanks!

It still doesn't work.

We're told the new 13th Generation ULFs (now shipping) are specific to iPhone compatibility, however we have never had the chance to try to pair on earlier versions.

Alright, I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on this but before I do, can you tell me if you've successfully paired up the iPhone with the 13th Gen ULF?

We have not personally (since we do not use the iPhone), but have received confirmation this was one of the updates in the 13th Gen modules.

Tom I spoke too soon. When making a call, I noticed my Nav Screen does not switch to the Telephone mode. Interestingly enough, when receiving a call, it does. I thought this might be the ULF's behavior with the iPhone so I tested it with another phone which work fine with the old ULF. Same thing. The switchover worked fine on my 6th Gen ULF but doesn't appear to work on the 13th Gen. Is the ULF deffective?

Right the nav screen does not "switch over" in the newer modules when placing a call anymore. I think it was a little disctracting so they removed that "feature". I like it a lot better with the new features as they made some other great improvements as well.

Of course, it does switch over when the call comes in so that you can see the call coming in and use the screen buttons to answer the incoming calls

Oh OK, thanks for the clarification. I also noticed that on the video that's out there which shows how BT works.

Are you sure that it is an ULF or it is a TCU (Assist)?
