Bluetooth Phonebook Transfer

I recently bought and installed a bluetooth kit from Advancedautovations in my 2001 X5 4.4. Everything is now working well, however, I have two questions...

1. How do you get the car to dial "# or *"? I like to dial #121 for information but cannot get the car to dial it.

2. I have a Nokia 6820 phone. How do I transfer the phonebook to the car? The car just says "Phonebook Empty" and I can't find and option to transfer it.

Thanks for the help!

You can dial the # and * from the phone itself, or via the Telephone menu if you have nav (I assume there's something similar for non-nav)

The 6820 doesn't support automatic phone book transfer. See http://www.xoutpost.com/html.php?file=bmw_bt_phones.htm. See page 12 of this document for more info on manual phonebook transfer.

I don't have nav. I would like to save #121 into the phonebook... Does anyone now how I would do this? The "#" in not an option on the head unit under dial.

try going to your "phonebook" in your phone then press menu.. you should see a new menu screen.. one of them should say "transfer or send" not sure but try it..

tried that there doesn't appear to be an option for this.

FWIW my phone is an imate JAM (also called an O2 XDA mini i think?), runs windows mobile 2003 SE and it supports headset profile & Object exchange. It pairs with the BMW ok, just doesn't transfer the phone book.

hi, none of the links in this thread work, exept for the last one. the last one is a link to BMW South Africa and it states that ericsson T39m is fully compatable (including phone book transfer).
to the date it is a mistery to me how i can transfer my phonebook from ericsson T39m. can anyone explain please?
also, no sms supported (it says on the nav screen) - does it mean fully compatable?

I have the same problem dialing # and *. I have a Moto e815, it does phonebook transfer and all that goodness just fine.

It's AMAZING, i just have one gripe.
it doesn't use the phone's builtin voice commands. I suppose this is good for phones that dont have voice commmands, but is a pain with my phone, because the voice commands are 100x better than the ones provided by bmw.

Does anyone know how to insert pauses or * or #? verizon is annoying and requires you to enter a password. I have my phone setup to pause, then enter it automatically.
Even if i can get it to dial #, pause or *, can i get it to work using the voice dial? it doesn't understand when i say "STAR" or "POUND". :(

anyone gotten this to work?
