How to turn the Bluetooth off?
I have a Motorola V710, which works very well with my X5's built-in Bluetooth. My question is how can I disconnect the BT while on a call. In my prior car (MB), I had a wired connection. When I was on a call, and wanted to walk away while talking, I could open the phone, and disconnect the wires. Also, if I was on a call and wanted to convert to talking only via the handset (instead of the speakerphone), I could open the phone while staying wired.
Yesterday, I was on a call when I pulled into my garage. I couldn't figure out how to shift over to the handset. Even when I turned the ignition off, the conversation continued via BT. I opened the handset to talk, but no go. I understand the BT protocol is essentially telling the phone that the car is a headset, but how can you make it turn loose? |
OK, I think I have this figured out.
While on the call, press the phone's context menu button (top center). There is an option to "Use Handset". Click that, and you disconnect from the car's system. I assume that other phones have some similar menu item. |
