Bluetooth, Directory, Blackberry 8310 and Outlook
So I'm stuck and have a bit of a challenge here.
Just updated to the Blackberry curve 8310 Paired to a Generation 12 ULF module perfectly in my 2003 X5 (BimmerNave retrofit kit) My Blackberry address book is synced to my Outlook address (contact) file, which of course keeps the full address book on both. Perfect to work with on the Blackberry. Trouble is this full file now attempts to download to the X5 ULF all 500 addresses I hold with extras for any 2nd/3rd numbers for office, home, cell, fax, etc. so my X5 ULF directory now has hundreds of entries just to letter 'M' where presumably it runs out of capacity. Clearly impossible to scroll through using the 'next' to see batches of 10 entries at a time and only contains half the alphabet anyway, thus rendering the directory useless. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/images...headbanger.gif Is there an obvious way to export a sample to the ULF from a phone. Perhaps a second Outlook directory with a subset of numbers, if that's possible? My ideal would be to have a sample of say 100 numbers that I'm ever likely to call from the car. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/images...ie_driving.gif Should I need an obscure one I could always manually interrogate the Blackberry and enter manually to dial. I can't be the first person to run into this difficulty. Thanks for any help or thoughts?? |
For a diffent problem I created an Contacts2 in Outlook 2002 and put all the contacts in it and whittled the Contacts down to what i wanted to sync with my phone..

70Sixter - thanks - this looks like the way I'm going to have to go, unless there is a more creative way of filtering contacts athe point of sync fromt he blackberry to the ULF

Next I'll work on your suggestion and see if I can get a better set up that way - appreciate the help :) |
Yep I've had the BB curve for a while now and can concur with Brian. Associating a "car" category with the appropriate contact and sync'ng only the car category contacts works a treat.

Yep - I've done it exactly along the lines as suggested and it works a treat..:)
Thanks guy |
