No problem. But that snap works great. Currently, my armrest houses the outdate CPT 8000 and it charges the phone, transfers the address book and uses the car's phone antenna.

Reason for getting bluetooth phone is that both my wife & I can switch between our 2 BMWs and not have to use a specific phone. Then, we can have hands-free phone in both car. However, I just wish the V710 wouldn't have so many problems with BMW BT. By the way, the new 1.40OR firmware does make the V710 work much better (faster start up time and faster shut-down procedure).

I still need to figure out why my snap in isn't functioning correctly and what i need to do to get it working right.

i assume you'd have to run a cable from the Assist/BT external antenna to the snap in adapter in the armrest. i don't know if there is a long enough bmw part nor do i know which connectors it has. should be simple enough though.
btw, for you GSM users, the Motorola v635 is coming out in the next few days. it's a v600 upgrade with a megapixel camera, video and still, and has a storage card for pics videos mp3's etc. i think it has the latest and best internet browser.

There is an antenna-like cable and a power cable that connect to the eject box under the armrest. Both are connected. I removed and reseated the connections a few minutes ago, and the phone still will not charge, and the antenna doesn't work. I guess it could be a bad snap in cradle.

Very cool.

Mine is sitting at my dealer. Jus haven’t had time to go pick it up.

Very cool indeed

Anyone have any suggestions on how I should troubleshoot my new snap in? The cables are connected to the eject box, both what looks like the power cable, and the smaller blue antenna-like cable. The phone does not charge and the antenna does not work when in the snap in cradle. It could be the cradle, or it could be the car. What should I do next?

If you have a multi-meter, see if you are getting power to on the cable that goes to the eject box. If not, check some fuses.

Is there a dedicated fuse for the eject box power line? Picked up a multimeter this afternoon. I'll check it out when I get home.

Don't think there is power going to the eject box, but I might not be properly using the multineter. played around with the fuses, and reseated the 3 fuses having anything to do with the telephone. Regardless, the snap in doesn't work. I installed the BT setup, including the eject box and the snap in, myself. I ordered all of the parts, including the snap in, from Crevier in California. I am in Connecticut. If I bring the X into my local shop to troubleshoot this, will they fix it for free or will they charge me since I installed it all myself (and removed Assist in the process)?

There should be 12V DC power on the cable that connected up to the eject box unit. If you aren't getting power out of the cable that extends from under the console then you definately have a problem.

Check and see if you have power as follows:

Pin 2 = Brown (GROUND)
Pin 5 = Red (12v +)

or

Pin 17 = Ground
Pin 10 = 12v +
