BT upgrade ?

Hello all, I currently have a TMC version 84.10 9120843 and I am considering upgrading to the 13th gen ULF BT module. My question is do you think there will be a difference in the outgoing audio quality? People can't really hear me very well with what I have now so I was thinking if I get the latest and greatest they could hear me better. It would also be nice to have the VR for the nav.

I appreciate any and all advice. Thanks in advance!

Patrick

Check your microphone. You did not say what year your car is, but BMW came out with an improved mike around 2003 or 2004.

Mic aside, the BT ULF totally rocks.

Also check the orientation of the microphone. Many have found theirs installed backwards and that by turning it around 180 degrees it fixes the audio problems.

I have an 06 so I'm pretty sure I have the new mic. I will check the mic. So I am guessing it is the general consenus is that the ULF is better than the TMC?

I checked and I do have the newer Mic. So is it safe to say that ULFs provide better quality than TMCs?

Hi I am a UK member. I just installed the 13 gen BT upgrade from the US & my calls can't be heard very well using this. I know I've got the old mic cos I have a 2002 model but just to let you know the sound quality didn't improve.
I will try turning the mic round though.

No.. The audio quality should be the same with both.

Also, I believe you have a "TCU" Telecommunications Control Unit 84109120843

I used to have that problem but I changed to the iPhone.
Maybe it's your phone.

I'm using the iphone, checked my mic & it's positioned correctly etc.
