MOTO E815 integration w/BT complete

I just completed the full integration of my MOTO E815 in to my 2002 X5. I bought the BT ULF module from AdvancedAutovations.com, and the eject box and snap-in adapter ( snap-in for V710 fits the E815 ) from Crevier. Everything works as advertised. The phonebook transfers, the phone charges, and the X5's built in cell antenna is being utilized as well.

Thanks to Rob for sending me the needed mini coax to fakra adapter so that I could use the cars antenna.

Can you tell a real difference in call quality using the car's antenna, compared with the phone's?

I'll have to get back to you. I just finished the install a little while ago. Signal strength was the same inside the garage :)

It seems as though the cars antenna gives me one extra bar on average thus far. My area has superior "EVDO" Verizon coverage, so in general I am getting 4-5 bars.

Will I have to do all this with a 2005 X5 in order for the MOTO E815 to work?

Yours is different. I think you have the combo Assist/BT module already, but it doesn't have the Voice Recognition feature built-in, and will require the purchase and installation of a stand-alone VR module if you want this capability. Have you tried to pair the E815 to your system yet? If you need the VR module, PM Dr_Smith, he's getting ready to sell his.

The VR was built-in in my 2005.

Thanks but I missed this. I'll check later maybe he still has it.

What ULF module do you have? Has anyone gotten the E815 to work with the BMW 552 ULF module?

It's not the 552, it's an older version. I don't remember the number though, and I would have to take things apart to get to it, since I mounted it with the factory ULF module bracket.

I remember what SG got, he has the -387 BT module.

What exactly are the issues you are having? What works and what doesn't work? What year is yours? Where did you get the harness adapter kit? Martin or AA?

I bought my ULF from Circle BMW. It is the 552 module (1st generation). I also have Mot V710 with the original software. Currently everything works via the BMW BT module except phonebook transfer. The newer software for the V710 didn't work well with the 552 module. If constantly connected/disconnected the phone. This is why I am wondering if the E815 works with the 552 ULF.

I have 2003 4.4 11/02 production.

The V710's usually don't transfer the phonebook. I have not heard of any issues with the E815.

Depends on the carrier, and what "disabilities" they have put in the phones. I have a v710, through Alltel (NOT Verizon), and the phonebook transfers just fine.

Some of the newer generation BMW BT ULF modules do allow the V710 to transfer the phonebook, if the V710 has the newer software.
