Anyone having Bluetooth problems?

Hi everyone!

I have a 2005 X5 with the newer BT module (voice activated). The module was replaced by the dealer as the original module (non-voice) that came with the car went south.

I use a Sony-Ericsson T673 and my phone constantly gets stuck! Here are a few examples of what will happen:

- I dial a number via voice-command. Call goes through OK. I hang-up, try do dial another number and "nada." The phone is stuck and I have to hit the dial button 5, 6, 8 times before the phone will "catch on" and dial.

- I am driving and want to look up something on the phone. The phone is slow down to a crall. I press a key and the phone will take 20 or 30 seconds to respond to each key stroke.

- A call comes in, I hit the answer button on the steering wheel and nothing, the phone keeps ringing and ringing until I hit it three and four times. Then it answers. Same thing happens if I try to answer through the button on the dash.

Originally, I thought this was a problem with the car phone, but it has persisted after the BT module was replaced. I have also done several hard resets on the phone and nothing... The problems happen about 70% of the time. Nonetheless, there are times where the system works like a charm.

I am curious to know if anyone has had any issues like these either with their BT module or the Sony Ericsson T673.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Jose

Hi Jose, :welcome: to X5world

One suggestion would be to try using a different phone to see if the problem is specific to the phone or the vehicle BT module.

Hi UCrew, thanks for the quick reply! I have thought of using another phone, but it would entail buying a new phone just for testing...

I hope someone else might be able to shed some light. Again, thanks for your reply! :)

I am having the same problem and I use a motorola RAZR. Seems to happen more when my radio is off than when its on. I have a 2005 with voice control also. I hope someone could shed some light on the problem.

Bennych, thanks for your post! I was planning on replacing my phone with the Razr. I guess that's out now...

josejb70, I have a SonyEricsson T637 as well, and have experienced the slowness with the phone on occassions. I have not had any problems with receiving and dailing using the T637, but have noticed the slowness when pressing the talk bultton on the steering wheel and nav unit.

What I have learned is that pressing the talk button on the steering wheel or nav unit normally takes a second or two for it to work. Just have patience and the call will go through.

Hold down the button on the steering wheel that looks like an icon of a speaking face for a few seconds. If you hear a "beep" then say the word "help". If it comes back with a verbal listing of available commands then you have the voice recognition functions.
