Dialing Name with iPhone and e53
 

I am unable to place a phone call by saying, "Dial Name." I am able to place phone calls by saying "Dial Number." If I go to Directory on the navigation screen I am able to see all of my contacts in there. If I say "Load Phonebook" the car simply tells me it cannot load the phone book.

Anybody know how to resolve that issue?

I have my iphone connected in my e53 via BT and it works fine, did u program the names first?, by saying add name etc.

So I have to program each contact by saying "Add Name?" There is no way for the BT to automatically know how to recognize my contacts?

This is the only way I know to program it, the voice Recognition needs to be trained to your voice, I don't think it uses your phonebook, only the names you program in it by voice.

Correct. The car's voice recog software is completely independent of the phone's contact list. You have to program each name/number combo separately. Change phones, and the car's VR name list remains intact.
