2004 X5 Bluetooth not Pairing with Blackberry 8830

I just purchased a 2004 X5 4.4l , while trying to pair my phones i noticed that my blackberry 8830 does not find the BMW bluetooth in discover mode but my wifes LG touch phone finds the BMW Bluetooth.

I dont have the passkey to pair the LG phone ,I looked behind in the trunk all i can find is the BMW assist module .

I am wondering does my X5 even have Bluetooth ? I am thinking it has the capability because the LG indentifies the BMW Bluetooth. My car is May 2004 build date. Someone please confirm.

Should i go to dealer for a passkey? where else should i look for the passkey?

Thanks in advance.

I just purchased this car , think the previous owner added it...If it does not have bluetooth will it still show up on my LG phone as BMW###??

also how do you like your Dinan x5? How much power is it making?

I read somewhere that it was available on 04 from sept build onwards, mine is a May 2004 ..but the owner might have retro fitted the 2005 unit in.

Good Luck! I have an 05 that I am not sure if it is bluetooth or not, I tried a Blackberry and my LGenv3 and my phone finds the car and I put in the passkey and it won't pair. The dealer I go to is useless, they replaced the bluetooth module but it still does not work. I am in the process of complaining the the owner and BMWNA to fix it.

Anyway back to OP, you need to get the passkey from a dealer, they get it from the module itself or they can get it from the car readout from the key.

BTW, the pairing instructions are HERE in this XOutpost article. If you can find the passcode, it will tell you what to do. Some have found that the instructions have to be followed very strictly, and others have had to try a few times to get it to work. Good luck.
