Does anyone have any experience with this product?

Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kits - Parrot USA

Just looking into options for an 02 4.4i with nav as far as hands-free is concerned. I am not sure how much it would cost to retrofit a system, so the Parrot may be a good option. I have only seen a few posts regarding Parrot products and was hoping for some new/additional info.

I installed the MKi9200 in a 2005 Mini Cooper S and it integrated very nicely. The interfaces for the Mini are virtually the same as on the BMW, so it should work fine.

Thanks for the info and moving the thread. :thumbup: So it sounds like you are happy with the overall sound quality. I haven't come across many positive coments on the Parrot products here. I was hoping someone would chime in otherwise. I know one person who uses it in her G35 and she seems to really like it.

There are several discussion threads on the Parrot in this forum. Here is a decent comparison of the Parrot vs. OE Bluetooth vs. other systems. One key consideration is whether you have DSP. The Parrot will work with DSP, but not as smoothly as with a traditional stereo system.

Given the recent discoveries of using a TCU for Bluetooth (versus the much more expensive ULF module), I would go with an OE system.

I appreciate the link. I know there were a few threads about the Parrot, but there wasn't really much discussion on it. I was hoping to get more/new opinions. Many threads were only one post.

I am going to look into upgrading my system with a kit from BSW, but cost is a factor right now. I just want something that will keep my wife from having to hold a phone and drive at the same time for safety sake.

Check out this post, then. The TCU-based Bluetooth system is about 1/2 the cost of installing a ULF-based Bluetooth system. This installation has been repeated many times since this original post. The BSW kit uses the ULF module for around $700. You can get the TCU parts for around $400. Plus, you do not need to install the eject box with a TCU.
