Dialing a "pause" with an iPhone in iDrive
I've seen some posts about this issue, but yet to find a resolution.
Like many, I call a number to access my work voice mail remotely. Upon picking up, the system prompts me to dial my extension (e.g. 1234), then #, then my password (four digit number) then # again. With my old Blackberry Pearl, it was simple. I programmed the phone with(999) 999-9999p1234#1234# and iDrive dialed it perfectly everytime. I now have an iPhone 3GS, and programmed the number using it's standard of a "," comma, for a pause. So the number looks like this: (999) 999-9999,1234#1234# The problem is, the iDrive systems appears unable to recognize the "," and as a result, doesn't display anything after the 10 digit number, and of course, doens't dial the extension or password. Is there a fix for this? Or any suggestions about what I may be doing wrong? |
I've got the new idrive and can't even get the pause & dial working from my blackberry using the "p" for pause ie: 1234p5678
Does anyone else have this problem? Can't get anyone to help in BMW Australia either - they have no idea about this level of detail in their idrive product..... |

Ths issue is not the phone. The issue is in idrive.
Getting the phone to pause is the easy bit..... |

This appears to be a common problem for people with iDrive.
If I initiate a call from my phone (blackberry, android or iphone) through idrive and the number in my phone includes a pause with follow-on digits, it works fine. If I initiate the call from idrive, it doesn't recognise the digits after the pause. The issue appears to be in idrive - nothing to do with the phone. Does anyone have contacts in BMW who could answer this question? I've scoured several threads - with no answers....... |
