BMW is playing with TCU and ULF prices

It looks like BMW-NA is playing games with prices. A TCU-based Bluetooth system used to be the most economical. You could do the entire system for about $450 in parts. But, BMW recently jacked up the core charge from $50 to $200, so now the cost of a TCU Bluetooth system is about the same as a ULF system.

The slight good news is that BMW-NA is now allowing dealers to sell the latest 13th generation ULF (part number 84.10-9 154 358) in the US. Tischer BMW sells it for only $477.14 with no core. This is a huge change—in the past, dealers could only sell the older, undesirable, ULF modules at inflated prices. This is a steal for a ULF.

:( I guess this means the price for a TCU will go up everywhere :(
