Android and Bluetooth problem
 

I have an X5/2005 with NAV and BT . I didn't had any problem with pairing BT and my old phone. I bought an Android 2,2 phone with BT 2,1 protocol and I can't connect with the car. The screen says bluetooth pairing but nothing else after this.Any suggestion?

Well like any adroid phone each is a little different, and the Modaco forum is the palce to go.

But in general the step are
1) "Root" the phone. This can be as easy as downloading a rooting app from the market, or more involved. It is an unlocking step to allow you to do the following:
2) Install a revised bootloader. This ~5MB program allows you to change the main system image. Kinda like MS Dos was for PCs, if you remember that.
3) Install Android. This ~90MB file is the main program. It will be specific to your handset.

I read all these (the Modaco forum) and I am very cunfused
If I do this (1) I will lost the warranty
2) Which bootloader (~5MB )?
3) Which android (~90MB ) ?
My phone is Hauwei Ideos X1 (or 8180) with android Froyo 2.2

1) Yes probably voids the warranty, although it is possible to go back

I had a similar situation, but in my case I could pair the Android phone and receive calls, but when I tried to place a call by voice dialing from the car, the phone would call the number but the audio remained on the phone, and the car thought the phone was idle.

I replaced the car's Bluetooth ULF (gen 5) with the latest (gen 13) one and everything is working well now. I suggest checking your ULF part number against this list to see how out-of-date it is. BTW, don't believe that list about newer parts not being available from BMW dealers - I got the latest 84-10-9-154-358 ULF from my dealer for $375 (Bimmernav wants $599).

The problem solved
1) I erased all phones from ULF.
2 ) Set the ULF to pairing
3) Switch on the phone's bluetooth and all are OK. I can see and the phonebook.
