Android 4.0.x and BMW Bluetooth

I'm new to the BMW Bluetooth systems as my previous ride an 09, X3 didn't have it, so I installed Parrot MKi9200 & UNIKA interface. Now I'm in a '09 X5 with Bluetooth as part of the iDrive, I've found that for some reason the "+" sign in front of the numbers in my phones contacts doesn't get transferred to the iDrives phone book. I use the + sign as I travel internationally a fair bit.
I seem to remember that the BMW sales reps iPhone worked and transferred the + sign when he demonstrated the car to me.
Has anyone else had this issue and found a work around or fix?

I'm pretty sure you're well past ULFs at that point and have Bluetooth in a MOST system. It can probably be re-programmed at the dealer with the latest software. May cost a lot of money if your car isn't warranty or CPO. I think the update is often a global update that changes engine & transmission software as well.

There are a number of issues with the latest BMWs and android 4.
I have raised these with BMW in Australia here, but they are simply not interested in providing software updates on models they have already sold.

I'm not sure if BMW are any better in other markets but in Australia once you buy the car there are no more software updates for idrive or bluetooth support.
