Razr V3c pairing problem
I know this has been beaten to death on this forum, but I still can't figure out how to pair my new verizon razr V3c with my 2006 X5. I do not have a cradle or snap in adapter. Bluetooth is powered on on the phone. I put the phone in the car, push and hold the R/T button on the steering wheel, then put the ignition to position 1. Nothing happens.
Where am I going wrong? :dunno: |
The bottom of page 3 and top of page 4 of this BMW document describe the pairing process - http://www.bmwmotorsports.org/pdf/BT_Pairing_05.pdf

pairing
I read the link you gave me above. It seems that all I have to do is turn the key to position 1 and then "activate phone" should appear on the MID. Nothing shows up on the MID when I put key in position 1.

Try forcing your phone to Look for Bluetooth Devices:
Menu->Settings & Tools->Connections->Bluetooth->Handsfree->[Look For Devices] I can't remember what position I had to have my inginiton in, but it worked like a charm. It sure beat trying to figure out the manual (which seemed to be incorrect for my setup). |
If you don't get Activate Phone on the mid or instrument cluster when you press the R/T button either the Bluetooth system isn't there or its defective. You should get this regardless of your phone. does your assist work?
You might jsut have a blown fuse or something but I suspect you will need to go to the dealer. |
TEL button
The mid does not show anything when I push the R/T button. If I push the TEL button next to the mid it shows "activate phone", but then nothing else happens. When "activate phone" shows in mid, what is next step for pairing?
My assist works and vehicle came with card listing Bluetooth info and codes. |
Try having your phone look for devices while the MID says "activate phone." It will then request the PIN from the Bluetooth card.
